WHAT'S A STILLROOM?

About Geanina

For 20 years, I taught geography — guiding students through the rivers, mountains, and histories of the world. But my own roots have always run deeper, winding through the quiet paths of the countryside, where the land itself speaks in whispers. I am not just drawn to nature; I am of it. Wandering forests, crushing thyme beneath my fingers, gathering the wild offerings of the seasons — these are not pastimes, but a remembering. This love of the earth is inseparable from my devotion to the old ways. The stillroom is not history to me. It is a living rhythm — an alchemy of land and hands, of fragrance and fire. What Our Guests Enjoyed...

"For three delightful hours, I was surrounded by the warm, inviting scents of essential oils like rosemary, lavender and patchouli and spices such as cloves and myrrh, as we dove into the art of creating medieval incense cones, colourful and aromatic potpourri and beautiful clove-studded pomanders! πŸŠπŸ•―️ It was such a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon and Geanina is a fabulous teacher! I can't recommend this experience enough — it was a perfect blend of creativity, history, and sensory delight! ✨πŸ™" - Kayleigh
"Brilliant level of knowledge & experience from the real world & definitely shows she didn’t learn it from a book but from years doing it as a way of life. Brilliant course & will definitely recommend it to others & be back for more courses & workshops." - Mick
"Taking the time to smell different scents; that was a multi-sensory experience (visual beauty of the apothecary, and taste of the posset); that it was a personal experience linked to my emotions. At one point, it felt spiritual which was unexpected." - JC
"I was so impressed by how much every day common plants had to offer. The drink I enjoyed the most was the nettle syrup. I definitely plan to make some next spring. I loved the fact that you seemed to be at one with nature - happy to be out in cold and rain without a coat. The picnic was beautiful even if it rained. Thank you" - Helen
